Roulette Table Layout
We'll get to those later. To start, we'll begin with the roulette table layout by discussing what is "inside" and "outside". Roulette Table Layout - Inside BetThe roulette numbers are found in the number box. You can read the number box left to right starting at 0 and ending with 36. The 0 and 00 are found on one row, while the other 36 numbers (1 through 36) are found in rows 3 across, so they go 1-2-3 on one row, 4-5-6 on the next, 7-8-9 on the next, and so on. All 38 roulette numbers are considered in the roulette box. If you bet on these numbers, you are making inside bets. This consists of straight bets (1-number), split bets (2-number), street bets (3-number), corner bets (4-number), basket bets (5-number) and double-street bets (6-number). Bets which are placed outside or partially outside the number boxes are considered outside bets. Roulette Table Layout - Outside Bets
On dozen bets, the roulette player bets on 12 numbers at a time. You can bet on the boxes which say "1st 12", "2nd 12" and "3rd 12". As the name implies, you can bet on 1 through 12 (1st 12), 13 through 24 (2nd 12) and 25 through 36 (3rd 12). Black/red bets involve bets on 18 numbers at a time. Half the whole numbers of roulette are red numbers and half are black numbers. If you want to bet on "black roulette numbers" and "red roulette numbers", you'll end placing them in the box marked either with a black diamond or a red diamond. Next to the black/red diamond boxes are the other 18-number bets. These are marked in their own small boxes which say "even" or "odd". Once again, you can bet on the odd numbers (1,3,5...) or even numbers (2,4,6...) for a bet of 1 total players. Next to the even/odd betting boxes are found the final 18-bet option. These are marked "1 to 18" and "19 to 36". Note that all of the outside boxes involving eighteen numbers have the same odds of hitting and the same house edge, so you can switch from one of these wagers to the next every few spins and not worry about hurting your odds. Roulette TablesPlayers place their bets on the roulette table prior to the spinning of the roulette wheel. Where you place your roulette chips corresponds to the bet you make. So if you place a chip inside a single numbered box, you're betting on a straight bet. If you place a chip on the line dividing two numbers, you are betting on a split bet. A corner bet is placed on the corner of four different boxes. Before heading to the roulette wheel, take a look at an online roulette table layout chart. This will show you where to place your bet for all roulette wagers. Just remember to avoid the 5-number basket bets (0,00,1,2,3), because a basket bet has markedly worse odds than any other bet on the table. The rest have the same odds on an American roulette table. |
